The Sum of that scandinavian/ japanese thing
A Study in Intentional Simplicity
At SUM FiNG, we create at the crossroads of Scandinavian minimalism and Japanese design philosophy. Our name is a quiet nod to the beauty of small things — the subtle, the intentional, the essential.
Rooted in the shared values of two cultures, our designs embody the quiet strength of simplicity, the elegance of natural forms, and the harmony found in thoughtful balance. We draw inspiration from three core principles:
Kanso (簡素) – Simplicity without austerity. Every piece is stripped back to its purest form, with nothing added that doesn’t serve a purpose.
Shizen (自然) – A return to nature. We embrace organic materials, tactile textures, and natural fibers that evolve with wear and time.
Wa (和) – Harmony and balance. Our clothing is made to coexist effortlessly with the body and the environment — calm, considered, and timeless.
Our garments are intentionally understated — designed not to shout, but to speak softly. We work exclusively with natural, sustainable fabrics, chosen as much for their feel and function as for their environmental integrity.
